Sean- Unlike the TR3 which was sold in a "Hardtop Model" on which the top and bows were an optional extra, the TR6 was always sold as a convertible, with top and bows. The hardtop was the optional extra. It came with a kit of parts to attach it and installing it meant removing the top and bows but the car always came with the soft-top to begin with.
