Back when I was first racing Spitfires in the 70's and we had no money, one
of the cars had a very short hairline crack between the water jacket and one
of the intake ports.  We used Bars Leak and we were able to race the car
with no problems.  We probably ran for 2 or 3 seasons this way.  Put in a
full can each time the radiator got drained.
