You should see the number one journal on the crank on which I did spin the bearing around 6000 RPM. Finished the lap, pulled into the pits. Stopped, started again went about 100 feet and the engine froze. The bearing was literally welded to the crank. Mymachinist decided it was not worth trying to machine it off as the journal was already .01 [or is it .001?] under. Had Chuck Gee nitride the next crank and have never had a problem agian. Chuck |
