Don't know if any FOT types are into golf, but word from the UK (Paul
Richardson) alerts that Matthew Richardson, son of Ken Richardson's youngest
son
Charles, is playing in the Walker Cup at the Chicago Wheaton golf club next
week.
Matt played in the British Open for the first time this year and did very well
for a first attempt. He finished in 78th position in an event where only
about 175 qualified to play out of about 11,000 who tried world wide. He is 19
years old, British Junior Amateur Champion and plays off plus 5. He is a most
delightful, unassuming boy. Paul says he may go right to the top when he turns
pro shortly. Sadly onerous work commitments prevent father Charles, or other
Richardsons, from attending and providing onsite support. So if anyone on the
FOT list is going to the Walker Cup, or know someone who is, tell them to say
hello to Matt from his dad and uncle Paul and wish him all the best for the
tournament from all of us at home.
