I changed my TR3 over to rack and pinion over the winter. I did the conversion
all myself by modifying a TR4/Spit rack (With SCCA I have to use a TR4 rack).
I spent quite a bit of time with the bump steer and was able to set it up with
some ackerman steering. What a difference the rack makes. Joe B

Has anyone noticed the rack and pinion conversion on E-Bay (#4564261396)? I
was considering bidding on it to swap out in the TR3 racer (for safety
purposes) as a winter project. From the descriptions most of the stampings
say Standpart. Is anyone familiar with the setup? Any input on whether it
would hold up under racing rigors (it appears to bolt into existing frame
mounts)?
I'd be concerned about possible bump-steer issues, as well as the actual
mounting of it...
