Since I put the crossflow radiator in my TR3, I have no overheating
problems, even on a 95+ degree day. I believe I'm wasting some power
with a water pump that's pumping against an almost closed thermostat.
I'd like to reduce the water pump speed by about 30 to 40%. That means
I need either a bigger water pump pulley or a smaller crankshaft
pulley. I've got one of the new narrow belt pulley and harmonic balance
kits. It's got an even bigger crankshaft pulley than my current one.
I could probably make a hub for a pulley if I could find a pulley &
harmonic balancer to bolt to it. I've also thought about an electric
water pump, but I'm not sure it would be legal in my race group. Any
suggestions and advice would be appreciated.
