Tom,
With as classy a web site as you maintain, nobody's going to worry about
whether you can keep track of two month old e-mails. See below.
If you, or any other FoTer, need any information or any help I can offer
here in Atlanta, my cell is (404) 660-4920. With the incredibly generous
stipend the organization has forwarded me to provide local services, there
is almost nothing you could ask that I will not provide. This is especially
true of free advice.
Seriously, though, I want all of you to feel that I am your contact in
Atlanta. Whatever problems you might encounter here, I've got a pretty good
shop, a large parking lot, high speed internet, a refrigerator full of Cokes
& Heinekens and lots of telephones..and most importantly, an eagerness to
help out if I can.
All of you write down my cell number. Somebody's going to find it very
useful.
Richard Taylor

I have blocked out 20 rooms at the Holiday Inn Express at the entrance to
the Chateau Elan. Rooms at the Chateau run $190 a night but I was unable to
chisel them down a dollar. However we've negotiated the Holiday Inn rooms
for:
* All rooms, (misc. assortment) @ $75.00 per night
* You must confirm 30 days in advance
The Holiday Inn is owned by the Chateau and its blue collar patrons have all
the privileges of the blue nose clientele across the street. Such privileges
are restaurants, golf, tennis, wine tasting and sniffing whatever bluenoses
sniff. There is a regular shuttle to and from one facility to the other.
Think designated driver. The Irish Pub there has great fish & chips and all
sorts of drinking stuff.
I checked out three other motels in the neighborhood and, for a variety of
reasons, this one clearly offers the nicest facility for the most reasonable
price. Our MG crowd has booked all but four rooms at the Country Inn &
Suites Motel (@ $85 to $95/night). They will be about equal distance from
the track (7 or 8 miles). Their motel is a nice place over by the strip
malls and McDonalds. I would prefer to have put both groups together but
there is not a facility within range with a 60 room block. So we can settle
for serenity.
Of course, if you are a bluenose, just book a suite at the Chateau and we'll
all come visit you in our overhauls. (That's Southern for Oshkosh bibbs.)
