It must be a synthetic gear oil for a start. Although in theory GL5 oils
will attack copper based products inside the box there doesn't seem to be a
problem with the large bushes and synchro rings unlike the thin copper shims
inside a diff, so I would suggest a synthetic GL5 gear oil. If you are the
panicky sort and want the same oil for a conventional diff as well as the
box locate a synthetic gear oil to GL4. I wouldn't suggest any additives at
all as they can make a mess of the overdrive clutch.
