Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fun filled night
that started a dozen years ago, when the party just went right.
The host was a seasoned cookin' man, the hostess sweet and bright...
Those of you with traces of grey adorning your skulls might possibly jostle
some old brain cells with the reading of the above lines. Younger folks
probably have little, if any, rememberance of Gilligan's Island, a popular
television show a, uh, well, um, just a few years back. Shorter term
memories might recall last year about this time when Mark and Karen hosted
the annual Fat Chance Garage Beach Party. The pirate theme that evening
was well received, some folks really got into it.
This year's rendition of the annual festivities will again have a theme,
which you might have guessed is Gilligan's Island. Hey, it's billed as
a beach party, so why not the beach which claimed the Minnow and its seven
stranded castaways:
Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the millionaire and his wife
the movie star, the professor
and Mary Ann
Last year's theme produced some great outfits, be it corporate,
software, music, Pittsburgh or seven seas pirates. Gilligan's Island
is not conducive to such creativity, since the cast was, uh, normal folks
wearing normal clothes. But hey, if you've got an extra $50 burning through

Remember what role Bob Denver played in the Dobie Gillis show?
As for the party, feel free to pay homage to your favorite Gilligan character,
or just show up as yourself, we're not picky. You might want to bring a
potluck dish, soft drinks for the kids. There might be some hand crafted,
fermented, barley-based beverages on hand. If you'd prefer to wet your
whistle with something else, you'll have to drag it along. You might not
need much if you're only here for the three hour tour....
