If you're required to stay with the 1.75" carbs they can be milled out to the
diameter of the throttle bore. I know this was done to SU's back when. I've
seen it with the Stromberg units recently. I did not think they could be made
to work, but they were dialed in the first weekend. It did away with the
starting enrichment system so they need a little squirt of something to start.
Not sure of the actual flow improvement, but it is better.
I've often wondered if anyone has had any TR intake manifolds worked on VIA the
Extredehone process, and if it was worth the effort.
Of course you could use the three carb setup, paint the head gold and claim a
Jaguar connection. ;)
