Really? I always worry about welding castings. The heat affected zone always
seems to get so fragile. I guess I'll get the MIG out. Need to practice
some anyway. Did you preheat or just weld away.

Weld those suckers in. The composition of the center section housing is
close enough to steel that the ones I've welded have not failed. put a nice
1/4" bead all the way around the circumference of the tubes.
