I just needed to do this with my street legal Toyota Tundra truck with an
LSD. I changed the diff fluid after 10,000 miles. The trick is getting the
new fluid into the clutch packs in a modern LSD. The recommendation was to
do about 15 'tight as you can' figure 8's. I found a parking lot at night
and did the trick. High schools usually have large empty parking lots at
night or on the weekends.
I used Amzoil 75W-90 synthetic with 4 ozs. of their Slip-Lok plus 8 ozs. of
BG LSII. Getting enough friction modifier into the fluid was key to a
noiseless LSD. Does the old Salibury design need friction modifiers with
modern synthetic gear oils??
Cheers,
Brad
<<Oh, for the good ol' days, when one could drive to a large empty parking
lot on a weekend and pretty much get away with anything that wasn't
destructive>>
