Interesting this topic has come up. In the last round of suspension changes in
Tiny Tim (the Honda Powered AutoX Spit), I went to 450 pound front
springs which I had custom wound by a shop in Kansas. Yesterday I had a chance
to try them for the first time on a concrete surface and discovered
that the car pushes so much that my times went the wrong direction.
So I am going back to the springs I previously ran which ate GT6 springs with 2
coils cut off. I added a full length leaf to the rear stack thinking
that would compensate for the increase in the front but needless to say, it did
NOT! Before I put the springs back on this week, I am going to have
them rated so that I have a reference point before I continue this saga.
