I regularly lose my logbooks (I always find them later, I'm getting quite
a collection). A new one costs five bucks and no one cares how many
entries are in it. Most of the cars running vintage races today never ran
on a track before the current owner decided to make it into a race car.

Yes, it would be eligible. My car was converted to race spec in 1989, no
problems at all with SVRA.
Go for it!
