Hi Joe (and all),
I kind of figured that was you, owing to the woman in the passenger side
waving frantically as you zoomed past and the CT license plates. In fact,
I think I saw you guys pulling out of the Texaco station near NHIS on the
way out.
Glad to hear your weekend turned out okay and your 400 mile round
trip to CT explains your lack of presence in the paddock on Sat. when I
drove through (at least twice) looking for you.
On the plus side, I introduced myself to Tony Martin (a local TR6 GT3
driver in the NER). On the minus side - there was a severe lack of
Triumphs anything that were road racing (excepting, of course, the TR6
and you).
The autocrossers faired well, Matt Wilder finished in second in EP
(loosing to a _woman_ in a _honda_) ;-) and looked real fast out there. I
"ran unopposed" but probably PAXed up with the top EP guys. I consider
that a success. Totten was lookin' good, as usual.
During the trophy presentation I was approached by Bob Dardano who was
trying to drag me and my car over to tech to get it checked out for the
driver school next week at Lime Rock. As much as I'd love to race with you
guys, it's just not in the budget in the forseeable future... plus there's
that relationship thing.
Anyway, too bad we didn't get to chat/visit/wrench, and I hope we do get a
chance later this year.
regards,
rml
p.s. that broken gear wasn't the 4.30:1, was it?
