An old Triumph friend, enthusiast & professional auto engineer pal of mine,
Steve Phillips of Enfield in North London has asked me to pass on a few
questions to you regarding the Silver Macau Spitfire, in which I believe you
had a hand converting it from four cylinder to six cylinder power during
it''s sojourn in the USA.
I believe it now resides in German speaking Switzerland.
Perhaps you could enlighten him/the FOT group regarding this fascinating
Triumph?

Dear Kas,
I'm involved in building a Macau Spitfire replica based on the Kas Kastner 6
cylinder specification. I would be most grateful if you could put the
following questions to Kas on your "invitation only" discussion group (Is Ted
Schumacher a member?).
Was the conversion based on the early, large bearing Mk1engine or the later
MK1 engine (same bearings as 2.5 engines).
What exhaust manifold was used? Recent pictures of the Macau show what
appears to be a 6-1 headers. Runners 123 exit between engine and chassis with
runners 456 exiting the between the chassis and suspension side. Is this the
original configuration or was a cast exhaust manifold used similar to the
twin outlet as fitted to the factory GT6R? If the twin outlet cast GT6R type
manifold was fitted, any ideas who produced it?
I've located a one piece inline triple DCOE intake similar to the one fitted
to the GT6R. I believe it was manufactured by a company called Warnerford.
Does Kas have any knowledge of this intake?
Camshaft profile and compression ratio used?
