If I remember correctly, it was the 1972 model (US-spec) Spitfire MkIV that had the 4.11 differential, to counter the effects of the low compression 1296 engine used that year. The 1971 MkIV, and the 1973 and later US 1500s, all had the 3.89 diff. --Andy Mace |
