Vintage Race List:
I am working with the son of a late friend (Bill Ames) who now has his dad's
historically significant Triumph Special.
Robet Ames is new to the world of vintage racing and I have no experience
with Monterey entry applications.
I need some help. Please.....
The forerunner to this car...an Ambro...was the Peyote. The Peyote has run
the Monterey Historics in the past. Baxter Culver as owner.....now owned by
Portland, OR resident. Expected to be at Monterey in 2001.
Robert Ames is interested in presenting his dad's personal Ambro at Monterey
in 2001. I have agreed to assist to him in this effort. Bill Ames was a
friend to many of us Triumph owners in the east and the midwest. Those of you
who knew Bill Ames and his history, will understand.
It seems possible that the Peyote, Bill's personal Ambro (driven by his very
capable son), and the Peerless Ambro might make an interesting appearance at
Monterey, together....(Also, Alain Decadanet (sp?) found the Peerless Ambro
an interesting topic of discussion on SpeedVision, this last event)
I need the information necessary for Robert Ames to make an application to
the Monterey. (It also would be useful to have the e-mail address or
telephone number of the gentleman with the Peerless Ambro, so that contact
could be made with him)
I have heard that "Specials" will take a prominent place in this next years
event. Is this true?...Thank you all in advance.
Regards,
Joe Alexander
