don't use graphite or carbon fiber for ballistic impact constraint. It
doesn't work. Always line it with glass or kevlar.
It's a long story ....but early composites in aircraft struggled for years
until hybrids coule be made 'tough enough"....and many argue we're not there
yet.
Nylons, Kevlars and glass can be constructed, woven or laminated to work
well....but not graphite type composites.
Now....want to think about what happens to conductive graphite when ligtening
strikes? Luckily it's not as likely in a triumph as it is in an F22 or 747.
