to me. I'm re-forwarding to the FOT list, just for general interest.
Comment: it is nice to see a Triumph being _driven_, whether it's through
trees on rocky roads or on road courses or through pylons.
In other words - WAY TO GO!
Too bad about the "shunt", but it sounds like you're on the mend, so to
speak.

Yes that was me and the TR-7/ V8 and I have been on the list
for over a year. I don't respond because of Road Racing issues.
We are running the remaining SCCA ProRally Championship which for
us started in June at the STPR rally in Wellsboro, PA. Our next event
is in MN. We should get on the Speedvision several more times this
year.
We started 52 out of 108. Starting position on Performance Rallies
are determined by past performance/finishes. By Friday night we had
moved up to 42. We took the start easy as the roads are very rough
and next day was going to be very smooth and fast.
On Saturday we started by setting the fasted 2wd time on stage 5 and
stage 6 and moving to 20th. These stages provided for many opportunities
to hit redline in 5th which is about 115 mph on a 25' wide rd.
The wreck happened on stage 7 as the we had just passed a SAAB who
held us up for 4 miles. Between the wreck which cost us 4 minutes and
the loss of the rear brakes on stage 8, which cost another 2 minutes;
and we would have finished 13th and 3rd in Group 5.

I was flipping through the tele' the other night... alright - I was
sitting there watching Speedvision... they had coverage of the Maine
Forest Pro Rallye... great lead-in to the F1 Hungary coverage!
Anyway, they showed a clip several times of a rather nasty looking roll
into the woods - a TR7! At least I think it was a TR7. The crowd helped
put the car back "on track" and it appears to have finished the event,
although the rear roof section was rather "rearranged".
Anyone know who this was??
Hmmm, a quick look at the web site confirms that it was A John Shirly and
Rob Hughes from Knoxville, TN and Washington, DC respectively. And it was
a TR7/V8. And they finished 3rd or 4th in Group 5 about 30th overall.
Pretty impressive!
Wait - I see a certain Philip Barnes listed as a navigator in an Eagle
Talon... Phil??? Are these folks potential FOT's??
