In the early '70, when I was working at the Belgian assembly plant in
Mechelen, we used special prepared cars for the autoshow circuit.
I do remember that for the Brussels Autoshow we had a TR6 (blue I believe,
not sure), with body color painted chassis, and all little brackets,
suspension parts, engine, transmission, radiator, rear axle, ect, specially
nicely painted black.
Why I remember this, I was the one that drove the car from Mechelen to
Brussels in the pouring rain, over the muddy parking lot of the show, and
had to clean the car to spotless perfection.
All because the truck that we used as car transporter (Commer I believe)
broke down as usual.
