I run no fan & survived many road & track miles this way; at first with
the heater & fan as backup cooling. I agree with Chris about an electric
fan, however, as it took lots of watching/sweltering to avoid the major
BHP loss. History majors note how painful a lesson the Triumph
factory learned about fan blades at Le Mans. Watch your fingers too.
I run no charging system. Less to fail and less weight in a terrible
place. I use a gilmore belt and tension it by moving the water pump
and housing. No extra pulley to fail. On the TR3 access is also much
better, and one less item during a motor R&R.
