Hello Bob,
Tech inspection will be looking for anything that might be ready to fall off
the car. It is pretty low key and a way of controlling anything that might
be less than road worthy or totally tacky looking.
Not that it means much, but the Chief of Tech at BRIC will have a Mustang
Parking Place with us in the South Paddock.
Taped "DINER" yesterday and watched it last night. A little disconcerting to
see the Red TR3A on it's side in the first few minutes of the movie. (I
think John Lye mentioned that it was treated as gently as possible and
returned in good condition) It was fun to see the red TR3A along with all of
the early 80s emerging actors, such as Kevin Bacon, Micky Rourke....
Looking through the window of the 'Diner', I could see a 57 Desoto much like
the one I spent time in during high school....until it met it's match with a
train. No serious injuries and only one person ejected from the car. Yes
this was my era.....
Count down to BRIC
Jon Baker, do you have a fax #?

Subject: Re: BRIC "Touring"
Hi,
I got a bunch of stuff in the mail today from Road America regarding
the
BRIC event. I'm coming in from "out of town", and I saw on the
schedule
that "touring" is available during the event.
The form indicates that the touring is $75 - I can accept that.
The question I have is: the form indicates that an additional $20
needs
to be tagged on to the form, I guess as a late fee. Can anyone tell
me if
the $20 appiles to touring as well as the "real participants"?
Oh, and if I do tour, what kind of "tech" do I have to pass? My car
is
relatively safe (at least while it's parked in the garage! ;-) ) but
I
was wondering what sort of issues the tech folks might be looking
for.
That's it for now.
rml
p.s. did anyone else watch John Lye's TR3 in the movie Diner last
night
on the Comedy Central cable station??? Hi John.
p.p.s anyone want to "work the camera" in my car while I take a few
laps?
