but the 2-tone is part of the "character" of Killer, isn't it?
In truth, the planned end result could be considered two tone. The
final scheme has the entire car painted Jasmine Yellow, with a LeMans
style nose treatment done in Delft Blue. That's the color the gas
tank, the dash insert, various suspension bits, etc. are painted.
... but what about those TR6's???
Let's see, the last time a six cylinder Triumph beat one of my Spits
at a VTR autocross, it was Seattle, in, uh, '93? That's when Chris K.'s
GT6 took the top time, with Bob Bownes at the wheel. Of course, he beat
me by about half the time I wasted on a particular downshift, drat. You
may remember that maroon car, the one with the crank that would eat thrust
washers every 5 runs or so. I'm glad we have a decent motor now!
Actually, I think in Rockford (Oh oh, another "one that got away" story!)
a TR6 did have a faster raw time, but hit a cone. Hmmm, where'd I put
those arm restraints?
Trash talk aside, though, this could end up being a good year for VTR
autocrosses. Hope we get a decent site and a good course. There ought
to be a sizeable handful of capable contenders this year.
