I was actually thinking about replacing the hub as well as putting in
something more lightweight than the 240 items. They are pretty durn
heavy....

I asked Dick Nyquist about the rear end of his GT3 (born DP) GT6 this
weekend. He was, as usual, very cagy, but has clearly gone to something
custom. You might give him a call and see if he'll divulge details.
Of course, the G44 answer was half shafts from a 240Z. That's probably
really easy to build up adapters for - use the stock rotoflex spider
and stub axle and a round plate of steel as an adapter to the U joint
trunnion.
