We rebuilt our TR gearbox, putting in new bushings, setting endplay per
specs, and replacing synchro rings.
After about four hours racing time, the synchros on third and fourth
don't synchro very much so we're going to yank it out and replace at
least those two rings.
We use synthetic lube, 70 / 90.
Any suggestions on what we might do to make the synchros work better /
last longer? Do the tapered portion of the gears wear enough to cause
this? (virtually impossible to measure). Does dinosaur juice work better
or worse than synthetic?
