Mordy & Bob,

Per your request-Summary:

The harmonic balancer used = MGB 1966 to 1973

Face off MGB pulley/damper, engine side, .355"

Cut seal diameter from Triumph fan support hub, .850"

Keyway depth was found to be shallower on the MGB part and the key
should be modified to fit both pieces. Alternative is to cut keyway
deeper but this should not be necessary.

Assemble TR seal diameter & MGB pulley/damper. Secure with a hardened
washer and a short 5/8 UNF grade 8 capscrew 1-1/4" long and red loctite.
I torqued mine to about 110 foot lbs.

Both Jack & I have run this set up for a full season. Jack has
disassembled his with no signs of problems pending.

You may want to VERIFY and fiddle with the cutoff dimensions as you
proceed to make sure it is what you want and need....and to align
properly with your pulley at the water pump.

We had a local guy modify our existing pulleys by adding an aluminum
"V". Nice outcome and the price was right. We also added the one wire
alternator and aluminum pulley for reducing the RPM.

Total $

Alternator JEGS $ 70.00
Alternator Pulley JEGS $ 30.00
Total $
100.00

We are quite pleased with the outcome.

There is also some discussion out there that says that a TR6 harmonic
balancer will fit with only a change of seals, but I dont know the
details. Someone out might be able to speak to this.

Regards,

Joe & Jack
