Don't hold your breath, on either. In spite of so-so performance the
Toyobura twins appear to be selling well, as is the Miata, and many other
Mazda models, too. I think many, maybe most of the real car guys at Nissan
went to Mazda after Mr. K was shipped back to Japan. They're sponsoring
more events, tracks, anything on wheels practically and they sell far fewer
cars than Toyota, Honda, maybe even Nissan, but they certainly have the
visibility.
We'll take a serious look at the Civic Si and the Mazda 6 when we're ready
to replace our '05 Accord. Seems like most of the mid-sized cars are coming
with the CVT transmissions, although you can get 6-speed manuals in a few.
Very few decent automatics though and everything I read or hear about the
CVT is a turn off.
Who knows maybe the Accord will outlast me and I won't have to worry about
it! ;>)
