thanks paul, i guess nothing is impossible. ill
admitt i never saw the 240z eng. swap. i was
making an educated guess, knowing how
tight it is under the hood. so, was the end
of the L-24 sticking out of the roadster's hood ?

Come on Bob, the L26 will fit without moving the firewall! Of course you'll
have to relocate the radiator to the back seat! Everything else sounds good.

hi henry, you are on the right track to boost the power in your car,
but i think to put a longer engine in, you will have to move the fire wall
back some to clear the eng. also a 74 eng. would be an L-26, 260Z
eng. with bad carbs, which you would want to change.
 i would recommend a stock U-20 (2000 eng.). i put a U-20
in a 1600(it bolts right in), and kept the stock 3.89 rear end,
and the 4 speed trans(1st and 2nd gears are lower than a
5 spd). i ran the 1600 against my stock 2000 and it beat the
2000, by 8 car lengths, up to 80 mph, after which my 2000
started to gain back a little. they were both stock 2000 engs.
just my opinion. best of luck, bob smith, ohio
