You can get fogging spray anywhere they sell lawn tractors, snow blowers,
mulchers and other small engine equipment.
For that crank and engine bits, I recommend something with more hang time than
fogging spray. We live near the Chesapeake Bay and I use something the marine
stores carry called Boeshield T-9. Supposedly Boeing developed for aeronautical
parts protection.
It sprays on and 'dries' to a thin wax-like surface. Remove with gasoline or
any solvent when time to use. I see it for sale on-line, check it out.
Save the paint until it's +60 degs outside again. Use the T-9 meanwhile.

Subject: [Roadsters] block & crank storage
Hi all.
I picked up my block, crank and all the other lower end bits from the
machinist today. I now need to oil to prevent rust over winter as
assembly most likely wont start until spring.
i read somewhere (and now can't find the info) about a fogger (?) to
spray the cylindar bores to prevent rust. Someone out there must know
what i am talking about....
ter
Also, is plain motor oil ok for the rods and what not else or is there
something better recommended for this?
One more: block painting....i need to paint the block still and it is
now to cold so i will have to wait until spring. i already have some
rust on the out side but have been told that modern block paint will be
fine over minor surface rust. Is this true? What is a better (or the
best) block paint out there that I can get for this situation?
Now to start aquiring head the bits!!
Thanks all!!
Tim
