Sure.
How bad are the "hydraulics"? Both clutch and brake masters have some fluid in
them? Is it dark and nasty looking or nearly clear? Where are the signs of
leakage? Places to look are inside the car where the master cylinders bolt to
the body any sign of brake fluid there? Then the clutch slave, does stepping
on
the clutch cause the slave to move? Any signs of leakage at the slave
cylinder?
Now the brakes? Start at the rear, pull the wheels and then the drums. Any
signs of leakage there? Are the adjusters in good shape and working? Now move
to the front of the car and remove the front wheels looking for the same issue
(no adjusters here).

Once you find the leaks, report back for more advice.

Regarding the gas. I'd pull the tank and drain it. Then I'd pressure wash (at
the car wash using the engine degreaser) the inside and dry it quickly. A hair
dryer on low setting stuck in the top (where the gas sender lives) works well
to
move enough air that it'll be dry in a few hours if you do a good job of
draining it. Then you can shine a flashlight in through the sender hole and
look through the fill hole to see what sort of shape the tank is in. If it's
not
too rusty (like flaking loose) you can likely use it for a while.
Put in a new fuel filter before the fuel pump, fresh gas and see if it'll run .

Thanks, Dan

Subject: [Roadsters] "Newbie"

Hi,
I purchased a 1600 about 35 years ago and loved it but sold when I left the Air
Force, then last year I found a '69 2000, along with a trailer full of parts,
that runs but needs the hydraulics replaced.
I also understand that the gas tank has old gas in it, smells like varnish, and
the car hasn't been driven for at least 10 years.

Not much info but where do I start?
