That's exactly what I did; "Need an alternator for an '81 Camaro with a
305." Depending on the rebuild, you may get a 60, 63, 70, or higher amp alt.
I must've read/re-read the How-to and related posts a zillion times. The
actual install took less than an hour...easy. The only thing I would do
different is explore whether a later Nissan or 92-95 Saturn alt would fit
since they're smaller than the GM alt.
