Dave,
Not sure if this will be useful or not. I have my boat in NE Pennsylvania.
A friend of mine hit bottom, and it busted the seal around the outdrive. A
few days later it was submerged. I got it out of the water within 12 hours
and brought it to the marina. They said the engine would be fine if.......
All they did was change the oil and filter three times. They said they
cranked it between each change. I do not know if they did that with spark
or not. The bad part was that they did have to replace other parts like
alternator, blower, etc. I guess they did not like being submerged. This
was a few years back, and the boat has run fine since then.
I say that if it ran fine before, just change the fluids a few times to see
if it clears up. Maybe cream oil is just from the water in engine while
being submerged? Good Luck.
John
