Welcome to our little insane asylum, Donovan!

Here's a quick tip... Get Scott Sheeler's "Datsun Roadster Book vol. 1&2".
You won't be sorry. Well worth the $88!!!

Pete, Linda and Fred,
Thanks a lot for the information. I will definitely follow-up with your
suggestions.

Pete, I could have kept driving the car as there was nothing wrong with the
engine, but the shocks needed replacing and the rust on the car was getting
worse so I stored it until I could save up enough money to do the interior
and bodywork. I have the ownership around here somewhere. My car does not
have the tear-drop shape marker lights but it could have been removed by a
previous owner as the car has apparently been painted a different color.

I don't want a showroom condition car because I don't have the money for
that. My idea of restoring is getting rid of the rust, re-chroming, a nice
paint job, re-upholstering and having an engine that has some pep in it.
There nothing like driving a roadster on an tree-lined country road.

I won't even attempt to start the car until I do what some of you have
already recommended.

Thanks again.

Donovan

Donovan,

This mailing list, like most, does not allow attachments. You might consider
adding to the Roadster Registry on 311s.org.

You think it's a '69? What does the VIN plate and/or title say? Primary
spotting feature for '69's are tear drop-shaped front marker lights. Here's
a pic of a '69 2000:

"I am all excited about restoring it." Restoring a car means different
things to different people from beater to daily driver to concours winner.
Different levels of time, commitment and money, especially if you're paying
someone to do the work.

"I drove it until I couldn't drive it anymore" means what exactly? Might
tell you where to start.

"It needs body, interior and some engine work." Personally, I'd start by
getting it running.

Welcome.

Pete
