You might try restoring it piece by piece without tearing everything apart as
Matt pointed out. It may seem less efficient but you still can drive, or at
least drive sooner.

Rich,
Rule 1 Roadster Restoration Handbook
If you're able to run the car NOW... drive it for at least six months before
you convert it into boxes of Roadster parts. Otherwise your first Roadster
maybe your last Roadster that then shows up on Ebay.."Project Car 90% done,
invested a boat load, my loss is your gain and the BIGGIE--- wife says it's
gotta go!!" :)
good luck!

Subject: [Roadsters] Restoring my first roadster
Hi All!
Anybody have any good steps to follow on restoring a datsun roadster? How
about pictures or websites? This will be my first and thought I would
through
this out to all the experience on this list. I hope I don't ask too many
questions that have already been asked.
Thanks in advance.
Rich
