I've run the 888's for a couple of weekends now-
they're significantly different than the RA 1.
For starters, compared with RA1's with the same sidewall markings, they're
bigger.
They have squarer shoulders and more meat on the edges.
They seem to need less static camber, and less pressure.
Compared to an RA1 in like condition, they appear to wear faster.
They also grip better, as in about a second a lap better.
They do yowl- High third into 4th, there's a defined growl that gets louder
with speed.
As they slip, they're pretty quiet, but you can still drive them by ear- as in,
when you're
out of lateral grip and starting to slide, they make a definate 'sliding tire'
sound that you can modulate.
Good under braking, stable under acceleration- when the rear breaks loose, it's
easy to catch.
I got rained on once with these tires- they weren't good on my car in the wet.
But I had too much
camber and pressure for rain...
In short, an evolution of the RA1.
