Well, I broke down my carb (the rear one first) and found the jet tube is 1/8"
longer than the one on the carb from my parts car. There is no way you can
release the choke, and have the jet turned down 1 rotation, and not have the
jet tube in contact with the slide/piston. In fact, it actually holds the
pistom up a bit from the bottom of it's travel. No ka-thunk unless you dial
the jet way down.
I was disgusted, and since it was 8:30 pm EDT, I just called Z Therapy and
arranged to have my parts car carbs rebuilt. It cost a ton, but I want to
drive my car. This has been going on for 3 months.
I'll tear the other down for craps and giggles, perhaps tonight.
I will contact the outfit that rebuilt my original carbs to explain why the
jet tubes are wrong, Apple Hydraulics, but I am not waiting any more for them.
I am less than happy with them. First, they had the jet adjustment off so far
that the needle couldn't go all the way down. Then, when we went to fix this,
the nut was SUPER tight and this is stupid also.
I thought I'd save a few bucks, and boy have I paid for it.
Z therapy tells me 10 days, at least, is the best they can do.
Oh well.......
