Ok, By all the responses, I understand that the 1500 Dizzy itself really
isn't worth much, but, caps are hard to find.
The cap and rotor on this one hardly show any wear at all. Also near new
points and condenser! (probably still set at correct gap/dwell too!) No
shaft slop that I can tell. I didn't use it much before switching to the
1600 dizzy. But it isn't the prettiest dizzy I've seen.
As many of you know I've gone to a crank fired ignition. The dizzy is
useless to me. I put this out to the list to possibly help someone keep
their 1500 going. I'm not in this for the money, But I'm not going to spend
my time and money sending parts out for a mere "thankyou" anymore. Yes it
has happened, recently. My fault for not ASKING to be reimbursed for the
postage.
Mark Dent was the first to respond with part of his message stating "I would
not mind getting it as a spare, but if someone else needs it to keep one on
the road, give them 1st shot." Which is of the same mindset I'm at, with
this. Keep one on the road.
So, If no one convinces me they NEED this dizzy (cap/rotor) to keep a car
on the road, by rights it will go to the first responder (Mark), who also
volunteered the info about the rarity of the cap. I like being educated
about the parts I'm passing around. Sorry guys, no "boots" to go with it.
Price to be determined.......... ;-) $1,000,000.00 !!!!
Daryl
