MSD, Multiple Spark Discharge. It's a capacitive discharge ignition
box, it can be triggered by points, electronic, just about anything. It
gives you something like 300+ volts to the coil, instead of the stock
6-8 volts. It can be a big improvement, also have been reputed to
occasionally die suddenly without warning.
Nice hot spark, will jump a HUGE gap.
