In the early '70s, my young daughter rode on the parcel shelf of my '66 1600.
No seat belt, etc. We were lucky we were never in an accident or incident.
My, how times have changed.

The grill does look a bit shonky, but it's the right one. The grill
always indicated the engine size (in this case 1600).
He did say he rode in the back seat, or his friend did. But a small
child in the early 70's could have been on the parcel shelf and
misconstrued that as sitting in the back seat.
He's taken the butt-ugly reflectors off the back too - you can see
the holes where they used to be. Other than that (and the luggage
rack) it looks like a very nice original car.
