There is a product made by the Loctite group that will reduce the temp (
freezing) of the shaft causing the steel to shrink only the smallest amount
and that can help in removing those tight nuts. The other option is to pack
the shaft in a combination of ice and rock salt and this will help as well. I
have used this method on the axle collars.
