These tend to seize and gall very badly and are almost impossible to remove
without destroying them.

hi everyone
thank you first to all who responded to my questions about a racing
windscreen. i bought a piece of lexan and am attempting to fashion the
screen. i
removed the windshield wipers, but am unable to figure out how to remove the
(what i will call) the "pivoting hardware." that is, the part of the wiper
mechanism actually sticking through the body. there is what appears to be a
large hex nut on the outside, but i am wholly unable to turn it. i've held
the
mechanism on the inside of the body and tried to turn that nut, but nothing.
i've only succeeded in causing the destruction of the piece on the inside.
is there a trick?
thank you all
steve
