carbs, manifolds, and gaskets

Hi, all.

first: early 67 low windshield 1600

OK.  i have the carbs cleaned, the intake manifold powder coated, the 
exhaust manifold ceramic coated!

i have the new gaskets.

now, do i put anything between the engine and the gasket; anything between 
the gasket and the manifolds, between the gaskets and blocks, etc.

and, does it matter on the carb block gaskets, one side has writing on it, 
the other looks like gray ceramic tile - does it matter how i put it in?
