Slip and slide powerglide was not as bad as the Buick Dynaflow. aka "Dynaslow". Forerunner of today's CVTs, but different technology. The torque converter had variable stators that changed pitch during acieration, so no shifts, very smooth but not very efficient. But with a big V8 they could get away with it Jerry Krakauer |
