Or, instead of spending a ludicrous amount for labor in the Bay Area, you
could transport your car about 100 miles to the Sacramento area and use anyone
of several paint shops that (1) have absolutely no problem painting a "classic
car" and; (2) charge about 20% per hour less.

In the Bay Area prices for
painting cars is (in
general) very high. With the retail price of shop
labor
at $70+ an hour in the area, you can see how
quickly the cost can add up.
Also, there are many body shops in the Bay Area that
won't touch a classic
car. Why? 

Many times it may take months for owners to locate
missing/damaged
parts and these projects end up
languishing for months on end. With the
average price
of indoor storage of cars in the Bay Area hovering at
$200 a
month, it just adds up.
