We don't ride right now, but I know we're both better more observant drivers
from our years of riding when we lived in SoCal. Just driving the Accord on
the Riverside Freeway scared us when we were out there again last summer. I
can't believe I used to ride from DT Riverside up the 91 to I-10 and then
east to Norton AFB, the Alabama exit, IIRC.
I have 2 inch convex spot mirrors on the Accord, the Odyssey van and my GMC
P/U, and I use them. Of course, if something really small is hidden just in
front of the areas covered by the spot mirrors that can be a problem. Then
again, for too many folks driving is just a secondary activity taking place
while they talk on the phone, eat lunch, put on make-up, etc.
What the hell? Why do I feel like I'm preaching (okay, venting) to the choir
here?! :>)
