Not preaching, but if the 67.5 2000 went to someone who would restore it,
the money received for it could fund a 66 or 67 1600 or high windshield with
good body/interior with money left for engine swap. Kind of like turning a
rare muscle car into a drag car, why "waste" a GTO, 442 or other collector
car, sell it and buy a 6 cyl Tempest or Cutlass for half the money and cut
that up.
Conversely, a H20 stroker/4speed wouldn't cost as much as a U20/5speed and
be just as fun to drive, and no body/frame changes.
My 69 2000 is not quite a dime a dozen, but wasn't pristine when I got it,
so no big deal if I want to play around. If the stock drivetrain is not
what I like, probably sell it, buy a nice clean 1600 and put a Buick 215
(TR8/Rover) aluminum V8 in.
By the way, anyone ever graft a low windshield frame and glass onto a 68-70?
Best of both worlds.

"Soon it will move under it's own power"
I have a roadster dilemma and maybe someone can give me some good advice.
My 67.5 2ltr has an r16 lump transplanted in it that is starting to puff a
good deal of smoke at startup. I have a feeling that it is a ring and
bering job. I don't know if it would be better to find a 2L to plant in it,
do a KA swap or go ahead and overhaul the 1600. I would rather have a
roadster with KA but don't want to destroy the integrity of the 67.5 2L. I
wouldn't even mind trading a 66 in similar condition for it and do a KA
swap. Any advice would be helpful
