Hi Mike, the red grease referred to elsewhere is RUBBER grease, ideal to
smear all over hydraulic components for assembly/storage etc.
Will not harm seals, boots etc. and will prevent corrosion.

Subject: Clutch/Brake Cylinder Storage

Hi List,
After removing my clutch master cylinder to reinforce the mounting hole, I
emptied it out, disassembled it, and discovered it appears to be "flawless"
inside. A possible candidate for a future rebuild. Is there any advice on
how to store it (coat the bore with something, plug it airtight, etc.) for
future use? This question would also apply to other hydraulic devices as
well.
