rear shocks

Hey all,
 I finally got some time to finish up my suspension rebuild on my '70 1600
and i have everything sowed up except the rear shocks. I have a set of kyb
gas adjusts (kg5546) for the rear but it seems the mounting bolt for the
shocks is too large. The bushing the shocks came with is 1/2 inch and the
mounting bolt is 5/8. So did they change something up on the 70's or is this
normal and everyone just pushes out the factory bushing from the kybs?
