Pete,

I have an original equipment 14" bias ply Toyo tire that appears to be
unused mounted on a stock rim sitting in the trunk of Mr. Hyde.

I put the spare tire assembly on my 30 pound limit digital shipping scale
and exceeded the maximum reading. Next I put the spare tire on my bathroom
scale and that shows 30 Lbs. Leaving me to suspect the weight is just a
little bit over 30 Lbs.

The only problem with this tire is that someone painted a car purple and did
not cover the tire in the trunk. There is a bit of purple paint on the
whitewall. I would like to remove the paint, but don't know how without
taking a chance on hurting the rubber.

Searched the archives and 311s.org forums. There's a lot of info on
aftermarket wheel weights, but, surprisingly, none on the stock wheel weight
other than "heavy."

I'm curious how heavy is heavy. Anyone know the weight of a stock wheel?

Thanks.
